The surface muscles of the face are responsible for our facial expressions: expressions of joy, surprise, concentration and many other emotions... the multiplicity of stresses exercised on the skin by these muscles results in the progressive development of permanent wrinkles as the integument loses its elasticity.

Body building and aerobics make the most of the close connection between the muscle masses and the skin to keep our bodies tight and firm, but all of this exercise neglects the facial muscles. Because these facial muscles are neglected the face begins to sag and wrinkles develop.

One very simple method of "facial exercise" has been used in the USA since 1889: this consists of applying small, flexible, adhesive, triangular patches to the skin at the site of the wrinkles.
